Rescue - Psalm 91:3

Rescue: free from danger, imprisonment, difficulty; save someone from danger, attack, harm…
here’s an interesting question… how often do you have to speak the promises of God in order to be protected… every minute, hour, day… what if you forget…
Matt 18:21-22… “how many times must I forgive… Jesus, seventy times seven…”
Rom 10:9-10… “confess with mouth… believe in heart… be kept safe, rescued, healed…”
don’t let this become a law… don’t let fear take over your heart… what about disabled who can’t confess… can they be saved or kept safe without speaking…
Exo 35… “all whose hearts were moved… spirits prompted… came to the Lord…”
1Sam 2:1… “heart rejoices… mouth boasts over enemies… rejoice in rescue…”
1Sam 16:7… “the Lord does not see as man sees… the Lord sees the heart…”
Psa 13:5… “trust in Your love… heart rejoices because You have rescued me…”
Psa 91:14… “because his heart is set on Me… I will rescue and protect him…”
don’t get distracted from God’s truth… trust His love, grace, mercy… as for me, I’m going to declare His promises as HS leads… speak, hear, believe, receive… drive them deep into my heart… and then speak from the overflow of it…
Josh 24:15… “choose for yourselves… as for me and my house… we’ll worship…”
Psa 23:6… “surely goodness and mercy will hunt me down… all days of my life…”
Heb 4:16… “approach throne of grace… receive mercy and grace… to help us…”
Luke 6:45… “out of the overflow of the heart… the mouth speaks…”
protection works as you rest in shadow of Almighty… declare the truth about God’s promises… and comes with a key to open the door of every trap…
Psa 91:3… “surely He shall deliver you from snare of fowler… deadly plague…”

NLT… “for He will rescue you from every trap… protect you from deadly disease…”
CSB… “He Himself will rescue you from the trap… and from destructive plague…”
world is getting darker and more evil… very real enemy who sets up traps daily to steal, kill, destroy… that’s why we need God’s protection every day…
Isa 5:20… “what sorrow for those who call evil good, good evil…”
Isa 32:6… “fools speak foolishness… make evil plans… spread false teachings…”
John 17:15-16… “praying You protect them from evil… they’re not of this world…”

best way to interpret bible is to let the bible interpret the bible…

can use that same principle to help us understand v3…
Psa 91:3… “He will rescue you from every trap… protect from deadly disease…”
Eccl 9:11-18… “race not to the swift… nor battle to the strong… nor favor to men of skill… time and chance happen to them all… man does not know his time… like birds caught in a snare… the sons of men are snared in an evil time when it falls suddenly on them…”
Solomon not overflowing with encouragement… something extremely important in this passage… his discouragement is addressed to a certain group of people….

if you are in Christ… you are not a son of man… you are a son of God… two categories of people… those who live life under random time and chance… who never know when evil will come upon them… and those who don’t…
Eccl 9:11… “time and chance happen to them all… the sons of men are snared…”
eth… right happenings dependent on the Lord’s orchestration (Gen 8:11; 18:14; 24:12)…
pega qarah… entreat, make intercession (Gen 23:8; Isa 53:12); prayed opportunities…

time and chance… being snared unexpectedly by evil… are things that happen to the sons of man… they do not have to happen to you… in fact, eth pega qarah is actually a divine appointment for the sons of God… for blessing, not curse…
Deut 11:26… “today, I’m giving you the choice between a blessing and a curse…”
Deut 23:5… “the Lord turned the curse into a blessing… because He loves you…”
Deut 30:19… “set before you life and death… blessing and curse… choose life…”

no curses in NC… only blessings… protection is a blessing… receiving blessings is a choice… only found in Christ, not works… miss thru ignorance and unbelief…
Hosea 4:6… “people are destroyed… by lack of knowledge… rejected knowledge…”
Gal 3:10-14… “all who rely on law are under a curse… Christ redeemed us from curse…”
are you living under protection of Most High… are you resting in the shadow of the Almighty… are you declaring and trusting the Lord is your fortress… are you established on a foundation of righteousness… are you building an ark…
Psa 91:1-2… “live under protection of Most High… find rest in shadow of Almighty… this I declare… He alone is my refuge and place of safety… my God in whom I trust…”
Isa 54… “do not be afraid… His name is the Lord of Armies… will never be angry with you again… My love will not be removed… storm-battered, troubled city… all your children will be taught by the Lord… their welfare, peace, safety, health, prosperity will be great… you will be established on a foundation of righteousness… far from terror, it will not come near you…”

sons of God do not have to be snared by evil time and chance… declare divine opportunities… divine protection… God’s time and chance… not magic, no special formula… about intimacy with Jesus… listen and follow voice of HS…
Gen 24:12… “Lord God… grant me success this day…”
Gen 27:20… “because the Lord your God made it happen for me…”
Ruth 2:3… “Ruth… happened to come… to the field belonging to Boaz…”
