The Declaration of the Shepherd
Part of GROW in MONEY
January 30, 2025

Money is

.

is not a sin.

Being rich is not

.

We don’t have a money problem. We have a problem.

We are

.

The fact is that we are all followers, swept along by a flow of circumstances and experiences and ideas and people. Even our best attempts to swim against the tide are strangely conformist. —Mike Cain

We are shepherded by

something/someone.

You cannot serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon. —Jesus

Declaration of the Shepherd

The Lord is my shepherd… —Psalm 23:1

– Covenant name for God

– David made a personal declaration

– Provides care and protection

Impact of the Declaration

…I shall not want. —Psalm 23:1

The Hebrew uses two words that literally means: not lack.

…I have all that I need. —NLT

…what more do I need. —David Gibson

25Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? —Matthew 6:25

31Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. —Matthew 6:31-33
