wanna hear a joke… pastor says if I give 10% cheerfully to God, the remaining 90% will be worth more than 100% if I don’t give… only it’s not a joke (devo)…
Gen 26… “Isaac sowed in famine… reaped a 100 times what was sown…”
1Kings 17… “I don’t have anything… first, make me small loaf… oil and jug full…”
Mal 3:7-12… “full tithe… pour out so much blessing you won’t have room for it…”
Luke 6:38… “give and you will receive… amount you give determines what you get back…”
2Cor 8… “poverty overflowed in generosity… begged us for privilege of sharing…”
2Cor 9:10… “sow sparingly, reap sparingly… sow generously, reap generously…”
last message… info will impact all of us temporarily… only revelation of Jesus can transform heart and life permanently… even this is all about Him… pray…
2Cor 3:18… “remove veil… see glory of Lord… transform to same image by HS…”
2Cor 8:10… “in this matter, I am giving advice because it is profitable for you…”
Gal 1:12… “didn’t receive from man… not taught… came by revelation of Jesus…”
don’t look to world for financial advice… even money tells us where to look ($1)…
Job 31:24-28… “have I put my trust in money… means I have denied God above…”
Prov 3:5… “trust in the Lord completely… do not rely on your own opinions…”
Prov 11:28… “anyone trusting in his riches will fall… but the righteous flourish…”
1Cor 2:5… “don’t trust in human wisdom… trust in the power of God…”
1Tim 6:17… “don’t trust in money, which is unreliable… trust should be in God…”
people often say they trust God… but generally that doesn’t include money… must know everything we have comes from Him… money is least area of our faith…
1Chron 29… “everything comes from you… we give only what comes from You…”
Luke 16:10-14… “he who is faithful in what is least is also faithful in much…”
2Cor 9:10… “He supplies seed… He multiplies seed… to produce generosity…”
trusting God in other areas of life starts with trusting Him with money (health)…
1Kings 17… “first make me a small loaf… flour and oil did not run dry… son died, Elijah raised back to life… now, I know you are a man of God and His word is true…”
Prov 3:5-10… “trust in the Lord… in all your ways know Him… He will make your path straight… this will be healing for your body and strengthening for your bones… honor the Lord with your wealth… with best part of harvest… then barns filled… vats overflow…”
Matt 6… “don’t worry… seek first His righteousness… and all these things will be added…”
2Cor 9:6-7… “give… and God will generously provide all you need…”
Phil 4:10-20… “only ones who gave financial help… and God will supply all your needs…”
1Tim 6:18-19… “be generous… willing to share… so they might take hold of true life…”
tithing has nothing to do with God needing your money… doesn’t need anything…
Psa 50:7-14… “all the world is mine… make thankfulness your sacrifice…”
Acts 17:25… “human hands can’t serve His needs… for He has no needs… He Himself gives life and breath to everything… He satisfies every need…”
doesn’t make any sense to give away 10% of what we have… unless it’s about something bigger than money… and you trust God to multiply it back to you…
Deut 16:17… “give as you are able… according to blessings given by the Lord…”
2Chron 31:5… “for ministry, thanks, praise… gave generously… great amount, a tithe…”
1Cor 1:18-25… “God’s foolishness is wiser than human wisdom…”
Heb 7:1-10… “gave 10th of all to Melchizedek… it is a witness that He lives…”
vast majority of times trust appears in bible… it’s a verb… actions follow when we say we trust someone… more you know them, more you will trust them…
Deut 1… “in spite of seeing all this (miracles)… you did not trust the Lord…”
Psa 9:10… “those who know Your name trust in You…”
Psa 33:21… “our hearts rejoice… because we trust in His holy Name…”
Mark 10:24… “how hard it is for those who trust in riches to enter the kingdom of God…”
when you love someone… give them the best, not leftovers… many give only if they have something leftover… God didn’t give us leftovers, He gave His best… Israel then gave best to God to acknowledge He had given them everything…
Lev 23:9-14… “bring firstfruits…. wave it… offering accepted on your behalf…”
Num 18:12… “best of the oil, wine, wheat… firstfruits which they offer to Lord…”
Deut 26:10… “I have brought the firstfruits of the land… which You have given…”
1Cor 15:20-23… “Christ raised… firstfruits of those fallen asleep… Christ, the firstfruits…”
resit/aparche.. first, beginning, best, chief; choice part; superior in excellence to others…
many don’t think they can give the best part because their budgets are so tight… reason your budget is so tight is precisely because you don’t give the best part…
Prov 3:9-10… “honor the Lord with the first fruits (best part) of your harvest… then your barns will be completely filled… and vats will overflow with new wine…”
giving not natural… its supernatural… God asks us to give so we learn to trust Him… trust is an action… 10% may be enough for some, not enough for others…
2Sam 24:24… “I will not give to the Lord that which cost me nothing…”
Prov 11:24-25… “give freely and become more wealthy… be stingy and lose everything… the generous will prosper… he who waters will also be watered…”
Mark 12:41-44… “widow put in two small coins… she gave more than all others…”
2Cor 8:11-12… “finish doing… give in proportion to what you have… whatever you give is acceptable if you give willingly… give according to what you have, not what you don’t…”
where should we give… priority is ministries that preach Gospel… more specific is to give where we are fed (Qdoba)… matters where you plant seed (concrete)… give to ministries that are producing fruit so you can share in harvest (TV, FB, YT)…
Mal 3:10… “bring all the tithes into the storehouse…”
2Cor 8… “gave first to the Lord, then to us… praised for gospel ministry…”
2Cor 9… “gift for ministry of the saints… glorify God for the gospel of Christ…
many people pray and pray for God to bless them financially… but refuse to follow His instructions about tithing… giving is critical piece of prosperity… Elaine and I trusted God over 35 years with money… blessed far beyond what we have given… time to take a step of faith… plant some seed… and start to trust God… pray…
Isa 30:18-26… “you’ll hear… this is the way, walk in it… send rain for seed sown…”
Eph 3:20… “to Him who is able to do above and beyond all we ask or imagine…”
Col 3:23-24… “whatever you do… do it from the heart… as something done for the Lord… not for people… knowing you will receive the reward of an inheritance…”
Heb 13:5-7… “keep your life free from the love of money… remember your leaders who have spoken God’s Word to you… observe the outcome of their lives… imitate their faith…”
