God Box: The Pattern of Prayer
Pastor Peter Gowesky
One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.” —Luke 11:1
9 “This, then, is how you should pray: “ ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, 10your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. 11Give us today our daily bread. 12Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’ —Matthew 6:9-13

HELP!
Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything; tell God your needs, and don’t forget to thank him for his answers. —Philippians 4:6 (NLT)
1 The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
2 Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge.
3 They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them. 4 Yet their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. —Psalm 19:1-4
The Pattern of Prayer
SORRY
Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:
And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. —Psalm 139:23-24
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. —I John 1:8-9

WHO?
2 Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. 3 And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. 4 Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should. 5 Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. 6 Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone. —Colossians 4:2-6
PRAYER IS A PIPELINE TO GOD’S POWER FOR GOD’S PEOPLE TO EXPERIENCE GOD’S PRESENCE.
