I Corinthians 13:13
But now faith, hope, love, abide these three; but the greatest of these is love.

Romans 15:13 (NIV)
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Romans 4:18a, 19-20
“In hope against hope he believed… 19 Without becoming weak in faith he contemplated his own body, now as good as dead since he was about a hundred years old, and the deadness of Sarah’s womb; 20 yet, with respect to the promise of God, he did not waver in unbelief but grew strong in faith, giving glory to God…”

God is the X factor. He is sovereign, all-powerful and is involved in the affairs of this world.

God is a covenant making and covenant keeping God.

Psalm 89:34
“My covenant I will not violate,
Nor will I alter the utterance of My lips.”

Genesis 12:1-3
“Go forth from your country, And from your relatives
And from your father’s house, To the land which I will show you;
2 And I will make you a great nation, And I will bless you,
And make your name great; And so you shall be a blessing;
3 And I will bless those who bless you,
And the one who curses you I will curse.
And in you all the families of the earth will be blessed.”

Genesis 26:24
The LORD appeared to him the same night and said,
“I am the God of your father Abraham;
Do not fear, for I am with you.
I will bless you, and multiply your descendants,
For the sake of My servant Abraham.”

Exodus 2:23b-24
And the sons of Israel sighed because of the bondage, and they cried out; and their cry for help because of their bondage rose up to God. 24 So God heard their groaning; and God remembered His covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. 25 God saw the sons of Israel, and God took notice of them.

A wicked generation (or even several) will not cause God to abandon a Covenant.

Psalm 119:90
“Your faithfulness continues throughout all generations.”

“We hereby dedicate this land, and ourselves, to reach the people within these shores with the gospel of Jesus Christ, and to raise up godly generations after us as long as the earth remains…” (Rev. Robert Hunt and fellow colonists)

Declaration of Independence:
“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal and are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights…”

When God looks at America, He doesn’t just see the wickedness of this present generation, He see’s all the generations together and remembers every person who dedicated this nation to God and every prayer ever prayed.

Acts 1:6b-7
“… they were asking Him, saying, “Lord, is it at this time You are restoring the kingdom to Israel?” 7 He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or epochs which the Father has fixed by His own authority…”

Acts 1:8
“…but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.”

It is not the plans and deeds of the unrighteous that determine the future, but rather the faithfulness of God’s people.

Revelation 6:9-11a
“When the Lamb broke the fifth seal, I saw underneath the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God, and because of the testimony which they had maintained; 10 and they cried out with a loud voice, saying, “How long, O Lord, holy and true, will You refrain from judging and avenging our blood on those who dwell on the earth?” 11 And there was given to each of them a white robe; and they were told that they should rest for a little while longer…”

Revelation 8:3-5
Another angel came and stood at the altar, holding a golden censer; and much incense was given to him, so that he might add it to the prayers of all the saints on the golden altar which was before the throne. 4 And the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, went up before God out of the angel’s hand. 5 Then the angel took the censer and filled it with the fire of the altar, and threw it to the earth; and there followed peals of thunder and sounds and flashes of lightning and an earthquake.

The brokenness and misery that comes from sin and ungodliness prepares the way for revival.

People who genuinely have hope and can give others hope will be the ones who lead.
