Message: “The Crossroads of Gender and Sexuality”
When we encounter things in life that do not align with what God
has said, what will we adhere to?
RELEVANT TERMS AND DEFINITIONS
Homosexuality The quality or characteristic of being sexually attracted to only members of one’s own sex.
Transgender A person who identifies with a gender different than the physical gender they were born with.
Transsexual A transgender person who has taken some degree of action to change their physical gender (includes hormone treatments and surgical alterations).
Gender fluid A person who does not identify with a fixed gender.
Genderqueer A person who expresses a combination of gender identities or no gender identity.
Accepting Welcoming a person regardless of their identifying with any of the above groups and showing them equal kindness and inclusion.
Affirming
Endorsing the acceptability of these groups by Biblical standards.
Non-affirming
Rejecting the acceptability of these groups by Biblical standards.

MY NEXT STEP TODAY IS TO:
Acknowledge my sexual sins (of any category) before God and
seek His forgiveness and power to transform my life.
Ask God to help me sort out my sexuality or gender identity so
that I align with what He has determined in the Bible and in my
physical body.
Ask God to change my heart toward those in the LGBTQ
community.
Commit myself to affirm what God has said on this matter
while also making every effort to show God’s love to all people.
Put my trust in Jesus and surrender the control and direction of
my life (even my gender and sexuality) to Him.
