Today I will be ministering part seven, the final message, in the series God of Power and Might. Through this series, which we started on May 5th, we have examined the supernatural, extraordinary, miraculous acts and power of God through the lives of so many believers in His word. Today’s message will be somewhat of a review of the previous 6 messages and the conclusion to the series.
Our main anchor has been Mark 10:27, “But Jesus looked at them and said, “With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.”
Part 1 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego-The fourth Man in the Fire. We learned that God will always be with us even through our fiery trials. If we remain obedient to Him, we walk under the umbrella of His protection.
Part 2 Daniel in the Lion’s Den- We learned that obedience and staying in right standing with God will ensure our protection and favor with God, and to obey God rather than man when it goes against our convictions.
Part 3 Gideon- We learned that God calls ordinary people to do extraordinary things for Him, that He will empower us to do His will, and God sees us in our full potential. He sees things in us we don’t see in ourselves. God won the battle with only a small rag-tag group of 300 men with torches and clay pots! We learned that God uses supernatural means to bring deliverance and victory to His people. When we do it God’s way, we get God’s results!
Part 4 Joshua When the Sun Stood Still- One of the most extraordinary acts of God recorded in the Bible. God made time stand still so that His children could be victorious! We also learned that God honors those who keep their word. Even though Joshua should have consulted the Lord before he made a covenant with the Midianites, because he did not go back on his word to them, God honored Gideon with a great victory.
Part 5 David-The Anointing of David and David’s Victory over Goliath. We learned that God doesn’t judge by outward appearances but looks upon the heart. God takes pleasure in choosing the ordinary, the small, the insignificant, the everyday, the unimportant…that is, according to the world’s standards. God chose an unlikely youth to be anointed as king and bring victory to Israel. In the eyes of his father, brothers, and those around him, he was not the right candidate. But God did not look on his outward appearance but looked upon his heart. David had already been cultivating a close relationship with God through worship. His worship was so anointed that evil spirits would flee as he worshipped.
Part 6- Jonah and God’s mercy and forgiveness. We learned that God loved the people of Nineveh despite their wickedness and desired to save them if they would only repent. We learned that God can work circumstances in our lives to bring us to a place of surrender.
In today’s message we will examine some of the extraordinary names of God which demonstrate His supernatural power, His compassionate nature and His character.

Did you know that Elohim appears in the Word of God 2,570 times?
One of the first places we see Elohim and a demonstration of its meaning is found in Genesis in the creation of the world.
Genesis 1:1-5(NKJV)In the beginning God [Elohim]created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was without form, and void; and darkness wason the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God [Ruach Elohim] was hovering over the face of the waters.
3 Then God [Elohim] said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. 4 And God [Elohim] saw the light, that it wasgood; and God [Elohim] divided the light from the darkness. 5 God [Elohim] called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day.

El Roi: The name of God El Roi means The God Who Sees Me. This name of God is found in Genesis 16:4-164 So he went in to Hagar, and she conceived. And when she saw that she had conceived, her mistress became despised in her eyes. 5 Then Sarai said to Abram, “My wrong beupon you! I gave my maid into your embrace; and when she saw that she had conceived, I became despised in her eyes. The Lordjudge between you and me.” 6 So Abram said to Sarai, “Indeed your maid isin your hand; do to her as you please.” And when Sarai dealt harshly with her, she fled from her presence. 7 Now the Angel of the Lordfound her by a spring of water in the wilderness, by the spring on the way to Shur. 8 And He said, “Hagar, Sarai’s maid, where have you come from, and where are you going?” She said, “I am fleeing from the presence of my mistress Sarai.”
9 The Angel of the Lordsaid to her, “Return to your mistress, and submit yourself under her hand.” 10 Then the Angel of the Lordsaid to her, “I will multiply your descendants exceedingly, so that they shall not be counted for multitude.” 11 And the Angel of the Lordsaid to her:
“Behold, you arewith child, And you shall bear a son. You shall call his name Ishmael, Because the Lordhas heard your affliction. 12 He shall be a wild man; His hand shall beagainst every man, And every man’s hand against him. And he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren.”
13 Then she called the name of the Lordwho spoke to her, [El Roi] You-Are-the-God-Who-Sees; for she said, “Have I also here seen Him who sees me?” 14 Therefore the well was called Beer Lahai Roi; observe, it isbetween Kadesh and Bered. 15 So Hagar bore Abram a son; and Abram named his son, whom Hagar bore, Ishmael. 16 Abramwaseighty-six years old when Hagar bore Ishmael to Abram.

Let’s look in Exodus where God reveals Himself to Moses in one of His most astounding names!
The Burning Bush Exodus 3:1-10 (NLT)One day Moses was tending the flock of his father-in-law, Jethro, the priest of Midian. He led the flock far into the wilderness and came to Sinai, the mountain of God.2 There the angel of the Lordappeared to him in a blazing fire from the middle of a bush. Moses stared in amazement. Though the bush was engulfed in flames, it didn’t burn up.3 “This is amazing,” Moses said to himself. “Why isn’t that bush burning up? I must go see it.”
4 When the Lordsaw Moses coming to take a closer look, God called to him from the middle of the bush, “Moses! Moses!” “Here I am!” Moses replied.5 “Do not come any closer,” the Lordwarned. “Take off your sandals, for you are standing on holy ground.6 I am the God of your father—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” When Moses heard this, he covered his face because he was afraid to look at God.
7 Then the Lordtold him, “I have certainly seen the oppression of my people in Egypt. I have heard their cries of distress because of their harsh slave drivers. Yes, I am aware of their suffering.8 So I have come down to rescue them from the power of the Egyptians and lead them out of Egypt into their own fertile and spacious land. It is a land flowing with milk and honey—the land where the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites now live.9 Look! The cry of the people of Israel has reached me, and I have seen how harshly the Egyptians abuse them.10 Now go, for I am sending you to Pharaoh. You must lead my people Israel out of Egypt.”
Moses Protests Exodus 3:11-13(NLT)11 But Moses protested to God, “Who am I to appear before Pharaoh? Who am I to lead the people of Israel out of Egypt?”12 God answered, “I will be with you. And this is your sign that I am the one who has sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you will worship God at this very mountain.”13 But Moses protested, “If I go to the people of Israel and tell them, ‘The God of your ancestors has sent me to you,’ they will ask me, ‘What is his name?’ Then what should I tell them?”
God Reveals His Name Exodus 3:14-15(NLT)14 God replied to Moses, “I am who i am. Say this to the people of Israel: I amhas sent me to you.”15 God also said to Moses, “Say this to the people of Israel: Yahweh, the God of your ancestors—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob—has sent me to you. This is my eternal name,my name to remember for all generations.
Jesus declared He was the I AM in the Garden of Gethsemane.
John 18:3-6 (NKJV) 3 Then Judas, having received a detachment of troops, and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees, came there with lanterns, torches, and weapons. 4 Jesus therefore, knowing all things that would come upon Him, went forward and said to them, “Whom are you seeking?” 5 They answered Him, “Jesus of Nazareth.” Jesus said to them, “I am He.” And Judas, who betrayed Him, also stood with them. 6 Now when He said to them, “I am He,” they drew back and fell to the ground.

And in the night His song shall be with me— A prayer to the God of my life.
John 10:10-11(NKJV)10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. 11 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep.
Colossians 3:3-4(NKJV)3 For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.
John 5:24-30 (NKJV)24 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.25 Most assuredly, I say to you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who hear will live. 26 For as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have life in Himself, 27 and has given Him authority to execute judgment also, because He is the Son of Man. 28 Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice 29 and come forth—those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation. 30 I can of Myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me.
1 John 5:12 (NKJV)12 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.
John 14:6 (NKJV)6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
