Esther Group Guide
November 19, 2023
Ice-breaker question:
When is the earliest acceptable time to put Christmas lights on your house?
Pray for your time together and for the Holy Spirit to speak to your hearts.
Discussion questions:
- Where do you experience the reality of God most easily in your life? And where are you in need of Him?
- What do you assume God’s posture toward you is? Does your assumption line up with what the Bible says about God’s posture to you? Do you easily believe the truth that you are God’s most prized possession?
- Kiki talked about showing God’s love to people – His image bearers – with action.
a. What are ways that you already do this?
b. Is there anyone you look up to who does this well? What can you learn from them?
c. Are there any ways in which you’d like to improve this or start this? - What do you think it looks like to be an intercessor (a person of prayer)? What topics/conflicts/injustices make your heart burn the most? How can you remind yourself to intercede in that area more frequently?
- Is there anything about looking at the story of Esther in the last few weeks that has spoken to your heart in a fresh way? In what areas has the Lord been nudging you?
Pray:
Take some time to gather prayer requests.
During this prayer time lift up the needs that have been shared. Then allow each person who feels comfortable to intercede on behalf of the people/situation/conflict-in-the-world of their choosing – its ok if everyone wants to do this or just a few.
