Isaiah prophesied what Jesus would bring and be!
For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given;
and the government shall be upon his shoulder,
and his name shall be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. —Isaiah 9:6
WE NEED THE PRINCE OF PEACE!! - God now sends his peace treaty, his peace, himself to earth.
JESUS’ PEACE OFFERING:
1) Peace With God - Peace “For Me”
I need to…“MAKE PEACE” WITH GOD. WE CAN’T!
WE MUST JUST RECIEVE IT, LIVE IN IT AND BE IT
By faith we have been made acceptable to God. And now, because of our Lord Jesus Christ, we live at peace with God. —Romans 5:1
Even when we were God’s enemies, he made peace with us, because his Son died for us. Yet something even greater than friendship is ours. Now that we are at peace with God, we will be saved by his Son’s life. —Romans 5:10
God has done it all! He sent Christ to make peace between himself and us —2 Corinthians 5:18a
2) Peace With Yourself - Peace “Within Me”.
And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, —Colossians 3:15a
“I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid. —John 14:27
3) Peace With Others - Peace “Through Me”.
On the cross Christ did away with our hatred for each other. He also made peace between us and God by uniting Jews and Gentiles in one body. —Ephesians 2:16
Faith in Christ Jesus is what makes each of you equal with each other, whether you are a Jew or a Greek, a slave or a free person, a man or a woman. —Galatians 3:28
and Christ has given us the work of making peace between himself and others. —2 Corinthians 5:18b
Suddenly, the angel was joined by a vast host of others—the armies of heaven—praising God and saying, 14 “Glory to God in highest heaven, and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased.” —Luke 2:13-14
