2 Kings 3:19 NLT

You will conquer the best of their towns, even the fortified ones. You will cut down all their good trees, stop up all their springs, and ruin all their good land with stones.”

Zeal and action without a God-centered plan exhaust and deplete resources.

  • 2 Kings 3:8-9

When experiencing failure, it’s convenient to blame God for our bad choices.

  • 2 Kings 3:10

Jehoshaphat’s righteousness opens the door to God’s leading of the unrighteous. Our influence is needed in an unrighteous world.

  • 2 Kings 3:13-14

“Bring me a musician.” Praise and worship change the spiritual atmosphere and open our hearts and minds to hear from heaven.

  • 2 Kings 3:15

God giving water this way makes little sense. Doing things your way has not worked out for you so trust God and do it HIS WAY!

  • 2 Kings 3:17

GOD’S WAY of deliverance answers the need while satisfying the concerns about our enemy and our future.

  • 2 Kings 3:18

2 Kings 3:20 NLT

The next day at about the time when the morning sacrifice was offered, water suddenly appeared! It was flowing from the direction of Edom, and soon there was water everywhere.

Your deliverance could be one ditch away.

Doing things GOD’S WAY will be counterintuitive if you have developed a pattern of doing things YOUR WAY.

Ephesians 4:17 NLT

With the Lord’s authority I say this: Live no longer as the Gentiles do, for they are hopelessly confused.

If you are living hopeless and confused, then you might have slipped back to Gentile/carnal/old man thinking.

Ephesians 4:18 NLT

Their minds are full of darkness; they wander far from the life God gives because they have closed their minds and hardened their hearts against him.

Living surrendered in mind and heart is how behavior is changed. Focusing on what God has done in our lives leads us further away from our destructive past.

Changing the way we think will change the way we live.

Ephesians 4:19 NLT

They have no sense of shame. They live for lustful pleasure and eagerly practice every kind of impurity.

A consistent choosing of self-destructive behavior creates a hardened heart to the leading of the Holy Spirit and distorts our identity as a child of light.

Ephesians 4:20-24 NASB

20 But you did not learn Christ in this way,
21 if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught in Him, just as truth is in Jesus,
22 that, in reference to your former way of life, you are to rid yourselves of the old self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit,
23 and that you are to be renewed in the spirit of your minds,
24 and to put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.

Ephesians 4:25-32 NLT

25 So stop telling lies. Let us tell our neighbors the truth, for we are all parts of the same body.
26 And “don’t sin by letting anger control you.” Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry,
27 for anger gives a foothold to the devil.
28 If you are a thief, quit stealing. Instead, use your hands for good hard work, and then give generously to others in need.
29 Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.
30 And do not bring sorrow to God’s Holy Spirit by the way you live. Remember, he has identified you as his own, guaranteeing that you will be saved on the day of redemption.
31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior.
32 Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.

Titus 2:11-14 NKJV

11 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men,
12 teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age,
13 looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,
14 who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.
