Day 156: God’s Faithfulness Is Not Finished
Today’s Reading:
1 Samuel 10–12, Psalm 129, Proverbs 3, Romans 11
Today’s Scripture Focus: Romans 11:29 (NLT)
“For God’s gifts and His call can never be withdrawn.”
Devotional:
Let this sink in — God hasn’t given up on His promises.
Romans 11 reminds us that even when people fall, stumble, or resist, God’s faithfulness isn’t finished. His gifts and His calling don’t expire. He doesn’t back out. He doesn’t cancel you.
This is Paul’s message: Israel stumbled, but God’s purpose for them wasn’t over. And by extension, His purpose for you isn’t over either.
Maybe you’ve messed up. Maybe you feel like you’ve disqualified yourself. Maybe life’s detours have left you wondering if you’re too far off track.
Hear this today: God’s call on your life still stands.
You can return. You can be restored.
He is faithful — even when you are not.
Today, stop rehearsing your failures. Start remembering His faithfulness.
Let the Holy Spirit remind you of the gifts He’s placed in you and the call He’s placed on your life.
It’s not too late. It’s not over. God’s story with you is still unfolding.
Reflection Questions:
- Where have you believed the lie that your mistakes disqualified you from God’s call?
- What gift or calling do you need to reclaim today, trusting in God’s enduring faithfulness?
Prayer:
Father, thank You that You don’t withdraw Your gifts or cancel Your call. Even when I fall short, You remain faithful. Help me today to trust in Your promises, to reclaim the gifts You’ve placed in me, and to walk forward in obedience and faith. Thank You for being the God who restores, redeems, and never lets go. I surrender again to Your purpose. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Digging Deeper:
1 Samuel 10–12 shows the rise of Saul as Israel’s first king — a reminder that God sometimes gives people what they ask for, even when it’s not His best, but He remains involved and faithful in the process.
Psalm 129 gives voice to a people who’ve endured much but declare, “They have not prevailed against me.” God’s faithful love sustains His people through every trial.
Proverbs 3 is packed with wisdom — trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding, acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.
Romans 11 teaches us that God’s faithfulness isn’t canceled by human rebellion. His mercy and mission continue, and His gifts and callings endure.
Today, stand up.
Shake off shame.
Step forward into the call God hasn’t lifted.
