so glad you’re back… spent week in a world out to destroy your hope…
Job 8:13… “destiny of all who forget God… hope of the godless will perish…”
Job 27:8… “what hope does the godless person have…”
now you’re here… we can fill your tank and get your hope restored…
Psa 33… “blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord… we put our hope in You…”

Psa 119:49… “you have given me hope thru Your word…”

elpis… expectation of good; joyful and confident expectation of salvation…
hope is real… but it must be attached to truth… if you hope in a lie, you will be disappointed… only one thing that always qualifies as truth… pray…

before we can restore hope, must know what it is… hope is knowing, not wishing… hope works when we believe… no God, no hope… true hope is alive, not dead…
Rom 15:13… “may the God of hope fill you with joy and peace… as you believe…”
2Cor 1:9-10… “trust not in ourselves, but in God… have put our hope in Him…”
Eph 2:12… “without Christ… without covenants… without hope… without God…”
1Pet 1:3… “new birth into living (strong, powerful) hope thru resurrection of Jesus…”
cure for bad news is good news… hope is good news… when doctor speaks death, God speaks life… when boss discourages you, HS encourages you… you choose which voice to listen to… never walk by faith until you start walking by hope… never walk by hope until you know and believe how much your Father loves you…
Matt 12:21… “the nations will put their hope in Your name…”

Christians ought to be the most hope-filled people on earth… but hope has been watered down by poor theology… diluted by mixing the covenants…

Col 1:5… “you already heard about this hope in the word of truth… the gospel…”

Adoption
if Jesus came, why is the world still a mess… not religion, legalism, gsc, sin… root is actually because we don’t identify with God as our Father… we’re sons… not servants or friends… church is a victim of identity theft… adoption restores hope…
Matt 4:3… “if you are the Son of God…”
Rom 8:15-25… “did not receive spirit that makes you slave to fear… but Spirit of Sonship… creation eagerly waits with anticipation for the sons of God to be revealed… in this hope…”
Gal 4:6… “because you are sons… cry Abba… no longer slave, but son and heir…”
Persuasion
hope gets restored when we are fully persuaded God loves us… and that nothing can separate us from that love… not even us… must be convinced of that…
Rom 8:28-29 MSG… “I’m absolutely convinced that nothing… nothing living or dead, angelic or demonic, today or tomorrow, high or low, thinkable or unthinkable… absolutely nothing can get between us and God’s love because of the way that Jesus has embraced us…”
Union
when you are certain you are one with Christ… hope gets restored…
John 8:35… “a slave doesn’t remain in the house forever… but a son does…”
John 14:16-17… “HS will be with you forever… remains with you and in you…”
John 17:20-23… “as You are in Me and I am in You… may they also be in Us…”
Rom 6:3-7… “we have been united with Him… in death and resurrection…”
Gal 2:20… “I no longer live… but Christ lives in me… who loved me…”
Obligation
religious hope is fleeting and weak… biblical hope is lasting and strong… especially when you know He has an obligation to His eternal promises…
Psa 145:13… “your kingdom is everlasting… the Lord is faithful in all His words…”
Dan 9:24… “Messiah… make an end of sins… bring in everlasting righteousness…”
1Cor 1:8-9… “He will keep you firm to the end… blameless… God is faithful…”
2Thess 2:16… “loved us… given eternal encouragement… good hope by grace…”
Protection
many of us have lost hope because of difficulty, defeat, or delay… our dreams are long-gone… but those dreams are reality to God… He’s already seen them… our part is to guard the hope He has given us in His word… be careful who you listen to… beware lies of religion… don’t be seduced by the lust of the world…

Phil 2:13… “God is working in you… giving you desire and power to do…”
Heb 10:23… “hold on to confession of our hope… He who promised is faithful…”
1John 2:16… “do not love the world or the things in it… not from the Father…”
biggest restorer of hope… God believes in you… don’t let anything move you from the power of His love… when life is crazy… let hope be your anchor… pray…
Heb 6:13-20… “waited patiently… received promise… impossible for God to lie… fled to Him… have great confidence as we hold to hope before us… strong and trustworthy anchor…”
