Let’s Talk About It
July 28, 2024
24 Many people followed Jesus and crowded him. 25 And a certain woman in the crowd had an issue of blood for twelve years.
26 She had suffered a great deal under the care of many doctors and spent all she had, yet instead of getting better, she grew worse.
27 When she heard about Jesus, she pressed through the crowd and touched his garment.
28 For she said, if I may touch but his hem, I will be whole.
29 Immediately the flow of blood stopped, and she felt in her body
that she was healed of the affliction.
30 And Jesus, knowing that power had gone out of him, turned and
asked, who touched my clothes? And his disciples said to him, you
31 see the multitude crowding around you and you ask who touched me?
32 But Jesus kept looking around to see who had done it.
33 The woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell before Jesus, and told him all the truth.
34 And Jesus said to her, Daughter, your faith has made you whole, go in peace. —Mark 5:24-34A reputation is to be desired more than great wealth. —Proverbs 22:1
Faith comes by hearing the message, and the message
is heard through the word about Christ. —Romans 10:17In the beginning was the Word [Jesus], and the Word was
with God, and the Word was God. / And the Word
was made flesh and dwelt among us. —John 1:1, 14a
The word on the street was that the Word was passing by. When she heard about the Word, it activated her faith in the Word based on the good word she heard. She then talked to herself, saying, ‘Let me reach out and grab a hold of the Word because the Word is the only one that can make me whole.’
The sun of righteousness will rise with healing in His wings. —Malachi 4:2a

THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BEING HEALED AND BEING MADE WHOLE.
WHEN WILL YOU PUSH THROUGH THE ISSUES IN YOUR LIFE TO GET TO JESUS?
SHE WENT FROM HAVING NO NAME, KNOWN ONLY FOR HER ISSUE. TO BEING IDENTIFIED AS A DAUGHTER, WHO HAS BEEN MADE WHOLE.
I know I’m not the only Christian who has felt ashamed for the things we’ve been through and are presently going through. As soon as I found Connection Church, I knew it offered something different. The pastors were transparent and vulnerable. It’s an environment of compassion that continues to motivate me to become stronger in Christ. Our church family is supportive, nurturing, and loving, it is a safe place. —Lauren Good
