Connecting to God | Connecting to People

It’s a passion for God’s best in our lives so we can be God’s best for others.

Acts 1:3 NLT

During the forty days after he suffered and died, he appeared to the apostles from time to time, and he proved to them in many ways that he was actually alive. And he talked to them about the Kingdom of God.

We serve a risen Savior, we are not alone, and God will never abandon us.

The things of the kingdom still need to be imparted to us. His kingdom will never end; therefore, our understanding of His kingdom will never end.

The power to be a miracle-working witness will be given as God promised through the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

Acts 2:11 NKJV

Cretans and Arabs—we hear them speaking in our own tongues the wonderful works of God.”

120 people in prayer receive the Holy Spirit, and those in the city hear it and are drawn to the phenomena. What they SEE and HEAR is everyday people speak the wonderful works of God.

Acts 2:14 NKJV

But Peter, standing up with the eleven, raised his voice and said to them, “Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and heed my words.

Luke 21:14-15 NIV

14 But make up your mind not to worry beforehand how you will defend yourselves.
15 For I will give you words and wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict.

Acts 2:37 NLT

Peter’s words pierced their hearts, and they said to him and to the other apostles, “Brothers, what should we do?”

Acts 2:38-39 NLT

38 Peter replied, “Each of you must repent of your sins

Change your mind from your present lifestyle of sin.

…and turn to God, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins

Turning to God and being completely saturated in Jesus allows
us to experience forgiveness and empowers behavior change.

…Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Receiving God’s gifts are life-living and life-giving.

39 This promise is to you, to your children, and to those far away—all who have been called by the Lord our God.”

Acts 2:41 NLT

Those who believed what Peter said were baptized and added to the church that day—about 3,000 in all.

What are these 3,000 Jewish believers going to believe and choose to build their lives upon?

The phenomena of the moment, rushing wind, tongues, a stern rebuke from a fisherman?

Acts 2:42 NKJV

And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.

The people chose to focus on the apostle’s doctrine, the eternal truth of the kingdom, and the lasting teachings of Jesus, not wasting any energy on the phenomena of the moment.

John 4:25-26 NLT

25 The woman said, “I know the Messiah is coming—the one who is called Christ. When he comes, he will explain everything to us.”
26 Then Jesus told her, “I Am the Messiah!”

John 14:6 NKJV

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

John 15:13 NIV

Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.

IN FELLOWSHIP

IN THE BREAKING OF BREAD

AND IN PRAYERS

2024 Vision - UNITY

We stand together in proclaiming the Lordship of JESUS and continue steadfastly in the teachings of our Savior, in fellowship, in breaking of bread, and in prayer.
