STATEMENT OF FAITH AND COVENANT
Solid Rock Church

N- Giving We believe that every Christian, as a steward of that portion of God’s wealth entrusted to them, is obligated to give to their local church. This giving is expressed in three ways; personal finances in tithes and offerings, in personal time given to the church and in personal talents invested to the local church. All of these types of giving are to be done both sacrificially and cheerfully. We believe that a Christian relinquishes all rights to their tithes and offerings once the gift has been made. (Gen.14:20; Prov.3:9-10; Acts 4:34-37; 1 Cor.16:2; 2 Cor. 9:6-7; Gal. 6:6; Eph. 4:28; 1 Tim. 5:17-18; 1 John 3:17)

Tithing our Talent

We must use what we have: Do not underestimate the abilities of what we can accomplish in what He has given us through our talents and to not waste these gifts through fear and insecurity.
Success comes from using these talents: We must step out in faith to develop these talents and we must seize opportunities to succeed.
Work for the Master: Everything we do should be for God’s glory and not for our fleshly desires or fear.

Be faithful in what He has given us: We should be faithful in everything He has given us and remember that we will be held accountable for how we use these gifts.
Hard work pays off: Working hard can lead to tangible rewards, gratification, skill improvement and experience.
Success is measured by effort: The master in this parable measures success by the degree of effort his servants put into this. We all want to hear our Master tell us, “Well done, good and faithful servant! You were faithful over a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Share your master’s joy.”

We must do the right thing with the talents He gives us: I AM certain that there is no one here that wants to hear our Master say “you evil lazy servant! take the talent from him and give it to the one who has 10 talents for to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have more than enough but from the one who does not have even, what he has will be taken away from him.”

Tithing Our Time

For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:

a time to be born, and a time to die;
a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;
a time to kill, and a time to heal;
a time to break down, and a time to build up;
a time to weep, and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together;
a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
a time to seek, and a time to lose;
a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
a time to tear, and a time to sew;
a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
a time to love, and a time to hate;
a time for war, and a time for peace.
—Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

Time:
1. On average Americans spend 2 hours and 31 minutes a day on social media/or surfing
on their phone.
2. And another 2 hours and 55 minutes a day watching TV.
3. That equals 17 hours and 37 minutes surfing on our phone and 20 hours in 25 minutes watching
TV. Which equals 38 hours and 2 minutes a week.
4. There is only 168 hours in a week.

Tithing Our Treasure

The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work. —2 Corinthians 9:6-8
