Preparing to Share the Good News
There are important things we need to do

16All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. 17God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.—2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NLT)

… Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect—1 Peter 3:15 (NIV11)

2Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart. 3Pray for us, too, that God will give us many opportunities to speak about his mysterious plan concerning Christ. That is why I am here in chains. 4Pray that I will proclaim this message as clearly as I should.—Colossians 4:2-4 (NLT)

When God’s people pray, heaven shakes, strongholds are broken, and power is unleashed. More is accomplished through prayer than through all of our slick outreach brochures, multiple-step programs, and big evangelistic events combined.—Kevin Harney

They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.—2 Corinthians 4:3-4 (NLT)
The Apostle Paul tells us we need the “full armor of God” (Ephesians 6:11-20) to stand up against the devil and help free others from his desires to
11Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.—Ephesians 6:11-12 (NLT)

5What, after all, is Apollos? And what is Paul? Only servants, through whom you came to believe—as the Lord has assigned to each his task. 6I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow. 7So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow.—1 Corinthians 3:5-7 (NIV11)

The key for us is to seek to be filled with the Holy Spirit so that we are often and intentionally
We are given the privilege and the responsibility of teaming up with God to bring his grace and truth to the world. But we must never forget that in this partnership, the Holy Spirit is always the senior partner. We don’t get credit when someone comes to faith in Jesus—we get to celebrate!—Kevin Harney
