“In terms of how far this goes, it’s open ended. I want to take my speed of aging to the lowest possible number.” —Bryan Johnson

You and I have a problem.

“A person’s days are determined; You have decreed the number of his months and have set limits he cannot exceed.” —Job 14:5

Hinduism
*Buddhism*
Islam
*Judaism*

All of these religions’ views of eternity have one thing in common: the determining factor is what we

and here in this life.

“I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” —Jesus, John 14.6

“Jesus said to her, ‘Your brother will rise again.’ Martha said to Him, ‘I know that he will rise again in the resurrection on the last day.’ Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though they die, yet shall they live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?’” —John 11.23-26

Jesus’s answer to our dying problem is faith.

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.” —Paul, Ephesians 2.4-9

“But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy… so that, having been justified by His grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.” —Paul, Titus 3.4-8

“‘Death has been swallowed up in victory.’ ‘Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting.’ But thanks be to God! He GIVES us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” —Paul, 1st Corinthians 15.54-55,57

“I tell you for certain that a grain of wheat that falls on the ground will never be more than one grain unless it dies. But if it dies, it will produce lots of wheat. If you love your life, you will lose it. If you give it up in this world, you will be given enternal life.” —Jesus, John 12.24-25

You and I have a problem.

The world, the flesh, & the devil all tell the same lie: “It’s all about you.”

“I denied myself nothing my eyes desired, I refused my heart no pleasure. My heart took delight in all my labor…Yet when I surveyed all that my hands had done and what I had toiled to achieve, everything was meaningless, a chasing after the wind…” —Solomon, Ecclesiastes 2.10-11

“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.” —Jesus, Matthew 7.13-14

“I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have LIFE, and have it to the full.” —Jesus, John 10.9-10

Jesus’s answer to the problem with Easter is to

like you’re .

“Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life [soul] will lose it, but whoever lose their life [soul] for me will find it. What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their life [soul]?” —Jesus, Matthew 16.24-26

“Truly I tell you, no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the Gospel will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age: homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields—along with persecutions—and in the age to come eternal life.” —Jesus, Mark 10.29-30

“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes [trusts, follow] in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” —Jesus, John 3:16

“Here I am! I stand at the door and KNOCK. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.” —Jesus, Revelation 3.20
