Living It Out This Week
Following Jesus is not always easier. Sometimes we try to make it easier than it should be due to our desire to want things comfortably. Yet, Jesus wants supreme allegiance and authority from disciples. Not in a negative, dictator way but in a loving, gracious and true way.
Sunday-Matthew 8.18-22: What continues to strike you about this interaction with Jesus? When has Jesus left you maybe a little confused? Pray for wisdom and insight!
Monday-Daniel 7.9-14: Daniel has a vision where the titles “Son of Man” and “Ancient of Days” are used. Jesus used the “Son of Man” title because it was not as popular as others. What does Daniel’s vision indicate about this title?
Tuesday-Ezekiel 24.15-27: The prophet was given a command to not mourn or bury his wife. What does verses 24 and 27 say is the reason? How do you know the Lord?
Wednesday-Matthew 8.23-27: How does this help us understand Jesus’ response in verses 18-22? What fear do you need to let Jesus handle? Pray for the courage to give Jesus everything, even your fears!
Thursday-Matthew 10.1-8: Jesus calls the 12 to him and sent them on mission. What strikes you in these verses? Read the rest of the chapter if desired to get full context but notice they are to give because Jesus has given to them!
Friday-Mark 3.13-19: Jesus now calls 12 by name to be with him. Jesus did not call because He needed something but because He wanted them. The same is true today: Jesus wants you!
Saturday-John 1.14: Join us in worship tomorrow! Pray for our worship tomorrow. Pray that our eyes would see the Lord! Invite someone to church.
