Rules for the Road #3 - Choose a Destination & Borrow a Map

Life is a highway, and a really complicated highway at times. You only get to live each day once, and there are no do-overs. But the future is like the road ahead; and it’s the only thing we have any control over. One thing we all can agree on - We all want to get the future right. We all want to arrive safely at our intended destination. Although we don’t know the twists and turns we’ll need to navigate, but there are rules for the road of life that, if followed, will help us get to our desired destination—our desired future.

TIP #1 - Don’t Travel Alone
TIP #2 - Don’t Pick Up Strangers
TIP #3 - Choose a Destination & Borrow a Map

PHILIPPIANS 3 (NIV)
12 Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. 13 … One thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward.

PHILIPPIANS 3 (NIV)
20 But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.

Determine what you want your life to look like.
Direction, not intention, determines our destination.

  • RELIGION is not your DESTINATION
  • SUCCESS is not your DESTINATION

PHILIPPIANS 3 (NIV)
10 I want to know Christ–yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death.

Your DESTINATION choice is LIFE and DEATH

PHILIPPIANS 3 (NIV)
17 Join together in following my example, … just as you have us as a model, keep your eyes on those who live as we do.
