Day 19 | January 20th

For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. —Romans 5:6-8

“Helpless and Ungodly”
Planning a vacation takes weeks and is filled with a sense of excite ment and anticipation. Our text says that Jesus came “just at the right time”. Imagine the planning that went into nearly 4000 years of history. In Genesis 3:15, God planned to bring Jesus, to be bruised, but He would ultimately crush Satan. God sent angels to sing and alert every one to Jesus’s birth – the unfolding of his plan!

Jesus came to fulfill the promise of God regarding salvation and grace. God demonstrates His love for us with an eternal paradigm. Jesus’s death on the cross reverberates through eternity because His death conquered DEATH. By believing this, you will live forever and ultimately receive an immortal new body! Jesus declared in John 5:24, “Truly, tru ly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life and does not come into judgement, but has passed out of death into life.”

God saves those who know they are sinners and confess to God their need for forgiveness. By faith, confess your sins today, believing with confidence that God saves the ungodly!
