  • The Book of Leviticus is the story of our separation from the “common”.

  • Numbers is about the

decisions we make and the next steps we take.

  • If we are going to live “uncommon”, we must recommit

to live out our decision to follow Jesus.

  • Uncommon: The time for

    is NOW.

  • Uncommon: Let’s get brutally

    with ourselves.

Exodus 12:21-22 …slaughter the Passover animal. Drain the blood into a basin. Then take a bundle of hyssop branches and dip it into the blood. Brush the hyssop across the top and sides of the doorframes of your houses…

John 19:28-30 Jesus knew that His mission was now finished, and to fulfill Scripture He said, “I am thirsty.” A jar of sour wine was sitting there, so they soaked a sponge in it, put it on a hyssop branch, and held it up to His lips. When Jesus had tasted it, He said, “It is finished!” Then He bowed His head and gave up His spirit.

Mark 14:3-5 Meanwhile, Jesus was in Bethany at the home of Simon, a man who had previously had leprosy. While He was eating, a woman came in with a beautiful alabaster jar of expensive perfume made from essence of nard. She broke open the jar and poured the perfume over His head. Some of those at the table were indignant. “Why waste such expensive perfume?” they asked. “It could have been sold for a year’s wages and the money given to the poor!” So they scolded her harshly.

Numbers 6:2 …“If any of the people, either men or women, take the special vow of a Nazirite, setting themselves apart to the Lord in a special way…

Psalm 51: 1-2 (NIV) Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions. Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin.

Psalm 51:3-4 (NIV) For I know my transgressions, and my sin is always before me. Against You, You only, have I sinned and done what is evil in Your sight; so You are right in Your verdict and justified when You judge.

Psalm 51:7,10 (NIV) Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.

Psalm 51:11-12 (NIV) Do not cast me from Your presence or take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.

Psalm 51:17 (NIV) My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart You, God, will not despise.
