Psalms 34:1 I will bless the LORD at all times;
His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
At all times
Continually
I will bless the Lord at all times, His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
What does it mean for us to say all times?
Sometimes when the heat turns up, we run to the wrong place.
Psalms 34:1 I will bless the LORD at all times;
David finds praise in a dark time and invited us to find praise there too.
It’s ok to not be perfect.
Get the phoniness out of church.
I will bless the Lord at all times, His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
It’s ok to not be perfect.
Psalms 51:2-3
2Wash away all my iniquity
and cleanse me from my sin.
3For I know my transgressions,
and my sin is always before me.
Part of the worship we bring is a confessional recognition of our sin.
There is an open door for confession and repentance
Psalms 51:7-9
7Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean;
wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.
8Let me hear joy and gladness;
let the bones you have crushed rejoice.
9Hide your face from my sins
and blot out all my iniquity.
1 John 2:1 My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One.
Psalm 51:15 O Lord, open my lips,
and my mouth to show forth my praise.
Confess your sin, repent of your sin, ask God to forgive you and to fill your mouth with praise.
I will bless the Lord at all times, His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
Psalms 57:7 My heart, O God, is steadfast,
my heart is steadfast;
I will sing and make music.
I will bless the Lord at all times, His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
In tough times we can’t find worship. In good times we forget to worship.
Psalms 18:16-19
16He reached down from on high and took hold of me;
he drew me out of deep waters.
17He rescued me from my powerful enemy,
from my foes, who were too strong for me.
18They confronted me in the day of my disaster,
but the LORD was my support.
19He brought me out into a spacious place;
he rescued me because he delighted in me.
When the victory comes, when things are good, when it al works out don’t forget to praise the one who gave you victory.
I will bless the Lord at all times, His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
The appropriate response in every situation is to worship.
Worship is powerful
Worship belongs to God
Worship is an exchange of love.
The cross is Jesus saying I love you; your worship is saying I love you too.
