As we continue post Easter series we are moving from the book of Acts to the Letters of Paul as we discuss God’s word and transformation. As you begin your study share together about what teams you belonged to or aspired to belong to as a child. Of which team were you most proud?

Worship

This week use Romans 12:2 as a guide to prayer.
1. Pray for each other that we will not be conformed to the ways of the world.
2. Pray for each other that we would be transformed by Christ.
3. Pray for each other’s needs, the needs of the city and the world.

Read Romans 12:1-2
1. How can you offer your body as a living sacrifice?
2. In what ways do you tend to conform to the ways of the world?
3. How does the renewing of your mind happen?

Read 1 Thessalonians 1:2-10
1. What do you know about the Thessalonian church from Paul’s experiences in Acts 17:1-9?
2. How did they become imitators of and then models for the faith? What does this tell you about their growth in Christ?
3. What kind of ‘model’ are you in matters of faith: still on the drawing board, a work in progress, secure in a private collection, on display in a national museum?
4. Which qualities in v3 to you most wish to see developed in your life right now. How can the group help?

What can we learn and apply from this passage as a church so that our ‘faith is known everywhere’ like the Thessalonians?
