Uncharted: Into the Unknown - Part 2

Led by the Holy Spirit

Sermon Text Luke 4:1 ESV

  1. “We are venturing into uncharted waters, diving deep to discover and embrace the things
we have longed for. However, we cannot walk according to the flesh to achieve this.” –

**To effectively navigate the uncharted, the unknown, or wilderness experiences, we must

Provide clarity on two questions:
a. What does it mean to be led by the Holy Spirit?
b. Why did Jesus need to be led by the Holy Spirit?

The Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Trinity through whom God acts, reveals His
will, empowers individuals, and discloses His personal presence in the Old and New
Testaments. (Holman Illustrated Bible Dictionary)

In the New Testament, the Holy Spirit’s influence moves from being for particular people
at times, as in the Old Testament, to pouring out on all flesh.

John 14:16 KJV

The word 'Comforter' in this verse is translated from the Greek word 'Parakletos,' which
means intercessor, consoler, or advocate.

Romans 10:9 ESV

Recreation is our human spirit being joined with the Holy Spirit, whose presence makes
His home in your spirit, transforming you into a new creature.

Point 1: Being Led by the Spirit Identifies Who We Are and Whose We Are - Romans
8:14-15 ESV
Point 2: Being Led by the Spirit Sustains Us in the Wilderness - Luke 4:14 ESV
Point 3: Being Led by the Spirit We Fulfill Our Divine Purpose - Acts 13:2-4 ESV

** Challenge for the Week:**
For the next week, make time daily to pray to become more sensitive to the Holy Spirit.
a. Make this declaration:
“I confess that I am completely dependent upon the Holy Spirit. Just as Jesus was
constantly listening to the voice of the Spirit, I am also sensitive to the Holy
Spirit’s voice and wait for Him to speak to my heart. When He speaks, I hear;
then I do exactly what He instructs me to.”
