God always takes care of His children. He is at work everywhere, bringing it all together for our eventual return to Him, where we will live with Him forever, having been delivered from sin, death, and decay. He will not remove all the trials, difficulty, and grief … instead, He promises to work through them to build our strength and deepen our faith. God is not detached or removed. He is not far away. He is right there in the middle of it all … in your life … in the same way, He has worked with His people from creation.
I. God is Helping You Overcome Your Uncertainties and Problems
A. Job 5:7 But humans are born for
as surely as sparks fly upward.
It is simply overwhelming when we deal with the world’s brokenness honestly.
Many of the things we face … are beyond our ability to fix.
B. So where do we turn?
1 Peter 5:7: casting all your cares on him, because he
about you…. Isaiah 43:2: When you pass through the waters, I will be with you, and the rivers will not
you; when you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched, and the flame will not burn you. Luke 12:6-7: Aren’t five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten in God’s sight. Indeed, the hairs of your head are all counted. Don’t be
; you are worth more than many sparrows. C. We are not alone.
- We must openly voice our faith and declare how He works in our lives.
a) Psalm 96:3:
his glory among the nations, his wondrous works among all peoples. b) How adept are we at praise?
We need to be looking at how he is working.
Matthew 6:34: Therefore don’t worry about
, because tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
II. God is Helping You Through Prayer
A. Psalm 145:18–19: The Lord is
all who call out to him, all who call out to him with integrity. 19 He fulfills the desires of those who fear him; he their cry for help and saves them.
III. Matthew 7:7–8:
B. This is an incredible promise.
C. Now, what if we began making fewer specific requests of God and more often simply prayed that God do whatever is best … and we trust His wisdom?
IV. As We Close…
A. Ephesians 3:20–21: Now to him who is able to do above and beyond all that we ask or think according to the
that works in us—to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen. B. God has determined that knowing he is active in the world and that all will be well in the end is enough. This should fill our hearts with confident trust and change the way we think.
C. He has armed us with trust in His goodness and power to govern the world. And with this knowledge, we are able to take the simple steps that lie before us every day.
