
Disappointment turns to despair when your Hope is attached to someone or something that was never designed to fill you up or save you in the first place.
2 chronicles 7:14 ESV
if my people who are called by my name humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
The greatest thing you do is be in the right position, so that God can use you and Bless you.
4 Positions to bring healing to brokenness.
1- Positioned to Stand.
God may use people in positions of authority to bring change, but God is going to use His people to bring healing.
2 Chronicles 20:17
17 You will not need to fight in this battle. Stand firm, hold your position, and see the salvation of the Lord on your behalf, O Judah and Jerusalem.’ Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed. Tomorrow go out against them, and the Lord will be with you.”
Romans 5:17
For if, because of one man’s trespass, death reigned through that one man, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man Jesus Christ.
2- Positioned to Receive Healing.
It’s hard to receive Healing if you don’t believe you are broken.
Nehemiah 1:5-7
And I said, “O Lord God of heaven, the great and awesome God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, 6 let your ear be attentive and your eyes open, to hear the prayer of your servant that I now pray before you day and night for the people of Israel your servants, confessing the sins of the people of Israel, which we have sinned against you. Even I and my father’s house have sinned. 7 We have acted very corruptly against you and have not kept the commandments, the statutes, and the rules that you commanded your servant Moses.
The enemy doesn’t mind what position we take as long as we leave the character of Christ out of it.
Romans 12:14-17
Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them. 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. 16 Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly.[a] Never be wise in your own sight. 17 Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all.
3- Positioned to Use what you have been given.
Romans 8:19
For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God.
2 Samuel 11:1
In the spring of the year, the time when kings go out to battle, David sent Joab, and his servants with him, and all Israel. And they ravaged the Ammonites and besieged Rabbah. But David remained at Jerusalem.
When you are not standing in your assignment, you will not have the grace to withstand temptation.

1- How have you put your hope in someone or something else besides that could never bring you Hope in the first place? How can we resist that temptation today to have our Hope fixed on Jesus?
2- Read 2 Chronicles 20:17. What does it mean to stand firm, and let the Lord fight on our behalf?
3- In your experience, how many of you have been healed or seen someone you’ve prayed for get healed? Why do you think Jesus commissioned the church to continue His ministry of healing?
4- What does it take to “get out of the way” and let our pride and religious boundaries get broken down?
5- How has idleness effected your life? What are some ways that you can get back in the game and use what God has given you in this season?
