II. Nonnegotiable

Brethren, if anyone among you wanders from the truth, and someone turns him back, 20 let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and cover a multitude of sins.

Four Components of Turning a Sinner to God

1. Observation

2. Compassion

Matthew 9:36
But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd.

3. Intervention

Matthew 18:15
If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault, between you and him alone.

2 Timothy 4:2
“Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching.

“The highest form of selfishness is a man who’s content to go to heaven alone.” —JC Ryle

4. Redirection

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Psalm 51:12
Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, and uphold me by Your generous Spirit.

John 14:6
Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

III. Eternal
