These are the words of the Teacher, King David’s son, who ruled in Jerusalem.
Ecclesiastes 1:1

I, the Teacher, was king of Israel, and I lived in Jerusalem. I devoted myself to search for understanding and to explore by wisdom everything being done under Heaven.
Ecclesiastes 1:12 – 13

Everything is meaningless, says the Teacher, “completely meaningless!” What do people get for all their hard work under the sun? Generations come and generations go, but the earth never changes. The sun rises and the sun sets, then hurries around to rise again. The wind blows south, and then turns north. Around and around it goes, blowing in circles.
Ecclesiastes 1:2 – 6

I said to myself, “Look, I am wiser than any of the kings who ruled in Jerusalem before me. I have greater wisdom and knowledge than any of them.” So I set out to learn everything from wisdom to madness and folly. But I learned firsthand that pursuing all this is like chasing the wind. The greater my wisdom, the greater my grief. To increase knowledge only increases sorrow.
Ecclesiastes 1:16 – 18

Knowledge is

it.

Kings from every nation sent their ambassadors to listen to the wisdom of Solomon.
1 Kings 4:34

Work hard so you can present yourself to God and receive His approval. Be a good worker, one who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly explains the word of truth.
2 Timothy 2:15

“You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
Jesus in John 8:32

Knowledge without God is

of it.

I observed everything going on under the sun, and really, it is all meaningless—like chasing the wind. What is wrong cannot be made right. What is missing cannot be recovered.
Ecclesiastes 1:14 – 15

The message of the cross is foolish to those who are headed for destruction! But we who are being saved know it is the very power of God. As the Scriptures say, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise and discard the intelligence of the intelligent.” So where does this leave the philosophers, the scholars, and the world’s brilliant debaters? God has made the wisdom of this world look foolish. Since God in His wisdom saw to it that the world would never know Him through human wisdom, He has used our foolish preaching to save those who believe.
1 Corinthians 1:18 – 21

Education can’t solve the problem of

.

I thought, “Wisdom is better than foolishness, just as light is better than darkness. For the wise can see where they are going, but fools walk in the dark.” Yet I saw that the wise and the foolish share the same fate. Both will die.
Ecclesiastes 2:13 – 15

People and animals share the same fate—both breathe and both must die. So people have no real advantage over the animals. How meaningless!
Ecclesiastes 3:19

Education can’t solve the problem of our

.

What is wrong cannot be made right. What is missing cannot be recovered.
Ecclesiastes 1:15

They knew God, but they wouldn’t worship Him as God or even give Him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused. Claiming to be wise, they instead became utter fools.
Romans 1:21 – 22

The greater my wisdom, the greater my grief. To increase knowledge only increases sorrow.
Ecclesiastes 1:18

Godly wisdom is

it.

That’s the whole story. Here now is my final conclusion: Fear God and obey His commands, for this is everyone’s duty.
Ecclesiastes 12:13

Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger by the way you treat them. Rather, bring them up with the discipline and instruction that comes from the Lord.
Ephesians 6:4

“I am sending you out as lambs among wolves.”
Jesus in Luke 10:3

Brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all He has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind He will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship Him. Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
Romans 12:1 – 2

“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through Me.”
Jesus in John 14:6
