DQ: Everyday Missionaries
February 11, 2024

INTRODUCTION: For what team were you rooting in this year’s Super Bowl LVIII?

READ: Philippians 1:1-6, Acts 15:22, 30-41,16:1-18

Begin the time by praying together.

DISCUSS:

  1. As an “everyday missionary,” what opportunities have you taken recently to share the good news in word or in deed?
  2. How would you describe what it looks like to be a 21st century such living with 1st century power?
  3. Give a specific example of a time that God called you to share the gospel with someone. Share “the end of the story” with your group.
  4. Think of a time when you have felt constrained by God to change your original plans….when He gave you a “no” to get you to a “yes.” Share a bit about how you knew God was intervening and how your plan was changed.
  5. In Acts 16:14 it states that God opened Lydia’s heart. What do you think that means? Share about when He opened your heart.
  6. It would be easy to use our brokenness, complicated family, or age as a reason to not be an everyday missionary who is always on assignment. What excuse have you found yourself using?

PRAY: Thank you, for giving me a “missionary journey.” Please help me to go where you are leading me to share the gospel. Help me to see how every moment and every interaction in every day can be a mission opportunity. I want to use every one for Your kingdom’s growth. Amen

IN SMALLER GROUPS, SHARE AND PRAY:
- Share one need for which you would like prayer today.
- Take time to pray for one person at a time
- Invite the Holy Spirit to guide your time
- Listen to the Lord for guidance in how to pray for one another and then pray
