Romans 8:1-11
1. The Flesh is
Towards God (Vs. 7a); it
God’s Law (Vs. 7b); it Cannot
God (Vs. 8); and it
for
(Vs. 6).
2. God Provides Salvation:
a. Jesus “Took Care” of
Romans 6:22, “But now, since you have been set free from sin and have become enslaved to God, you have your fruit, which results in sanctification—and the outcome is eternal life!”
b. The Spirit Gives
John 6:61-65, “Jesus, knowing in himself that his disciples were grumbling about this, asked them, “Does this offend you? Then what if you were to observe the Son of Man ascending to where he was before? The Spirit is the one who gives life. The flesh doesn’t help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life. But there are some among you who don’t believe.” (For Jesus knew from the beginning those who did not believe and the one who would betray him.) He said, “This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless it is granted to him by the Father.””

Upon the Lord. (Vs. 5-6, Heb 12:1-2)
Hebrews 12:1-2, “Therefore, since we also have such a large cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us lay aside every hindrance and the sin that so easily ensnares us. Let us run with endurance the race that lies before us, keeping our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith. For the joy that lay before him, he endured the cross, despising the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
