Hebrews

Main Point: If you want to know how amazing Jesus is, spend time in God’s Word.

“For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” —Hebrews 4:12

God’s Word is Personal

“When we encounter the word of God, we encounter God…His word, indeed, is his personal presence. Whenever God’s word is spoken, read, or heard, God himself is there.” —John Frame, The Doctrine of the Word of God

God’s Word is Powerful

Jesus called in a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!” The dead man came out, —John 11:43-44a

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. —2 Timothy 3:16-17

God’s Word is Penetrating

Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. 16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. —Hebrews 4:14-16

Jesus is For us

For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all people. This has now been witnessed to at the proper time. —1 Timothy 2:5-6

Jesus understands what we are going through

Takeaway: If you are a follower of Jesus, he will never stop loving you, pleading your case, and representing you before God.
