Growth Questions
These questions are to help you apply each week’s message to your life and to help others do the same. Can being honest and vulnerable about your life be intimidating? Is it OK to struggle and have real questions? The answer to both questions is “Yes.” Growth Groups are meant to be safe places where we share our answers to the questions below in order to help people know, love & serve Jesus better, together. If you’re not in one, email Pastor David Mataya (david@redeemeraz.org), and ask about availability. If you missed this or any message, you can go to our website, iTunes, Spotify, Facebook page, or our YouTube channel to get caught up.
As you look at the vision of the future that God gives to Daniel in verses 2-20, what are some things that stand out in these verses? What might be encouraging to us in relation to our own time period?
In verses 21-35, this is a prophecy concerning a ruler from the North of Israel (Syria) known as Antiochus Epiphanes. How is he described in these verses? What harm does he do to the Jews? How does God encourage His people as they face this wicked ruler, especially in verses 32-35? What encouragement can you take away from this?
Daniel’s vision switches gears to a prediction of the worst ruler who will ever live, the Anti-Christ (vss. 36-45). How is he described here? What is significant and encouraging regarding verse 45 (see also: 2 Thess 2:8; Revelation 19:11-21, 20:1-3)?
In what ways do you see the work of God throughout Daniel, chapter 11? How does the second coming of Christ give us hope in light of the turmoil we face in the world and in our personal lives (see also: Phil. 3:20-21; 2 Peter 3:8-13; 1 Cor 1:4-9; 1 John 2:28-3:3)?
