  1. What two groups of people did Solomon’s son Rehoboam consult about the people’s request to lighten their labor? (1 Kings 12:1-15)

  2. How did God use Rehoboam’s foolish decision to accomplish His purpose to divide the kingdom of Israel? (compare verses 15-17 with the prophecy in 1 Kings 11:30-32)

  1. What does today’s Scripture speak to you about God’s expectation of obedience to Him and people’s willingness to follow evil leaders? How can you respond?

  2. When was the last time God used you in gifts of the Spirit to speak His guidance to someone or gave you supernatural insight about a situation? Take a moment to be willing for God to use you to honor Him through His spiritual gifts.
