Key Truth – Be a Peacemaker NOT a Promoter


Promoters…
 are willing to see people get hurt.


Promoters…
 are willing to see people get hurt.
 stir things up.


Proverbs 6:16-19
There are six things the LORD hates,
seven that are detestable to him:
haughty eyes,
a lying tongue,
hands that shed innocent blood,
a heart that devises wicked schemes,
feet that are quick to rush into evil,
a false witness who pours out lies
and a person who stirs up conflict in the community.


Peacemakers…
 are at peace with God.


Acts 9:1-6
Meanwhile, Saul was still breathing out murderous threats against the Lord’s disciples. He went to the high priest and asked him for letters to the synagogues in Damascus, so that if he found any there who belonged to the Way, whether men
or women, he might take them as prisoners to Jerusalem. As he neared
Damascus on his journey, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him. He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?”
“Who are you, Lord?” Saul asked.
“I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,” he replied. “Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”


Peacemakers…
 are at peace with God.

 act in love.


Galatians 5:22-23
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.


1 Corinthians 13:13
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.


Love = an unconquerable benevolence
