Warning: Some people won’t like it if you choose to trust and follow Jesus

FOLLOWERS OF JESUS WILL FACE OPPOSITION

Those in authority will often oppose us

Opposition will often come from those closest to us

Sometimes bad behavior by Christians is the cause of opposition we face (1 Peter 3:15)

HOW WILL THE LORD HELP US IN THE FACE OF OPPOSITION?

The Lord will enable us to respond well (Acts 4:13)

Any opposition we experience because of Jesus will be worth it (2 Corinthians 4:17; Matthew 5:11-12)

It is really an honor if people don’t like us because of our faith in Jesus (Philippians 1:29; 3:10; 1 Peter 4:12-16)

Make sure you are not surprised and discouraged when opposition comes

Develop a faith with strong roots that can withstand the winds of opposition that might come
