INTRODUCTION

Today’s Takeaway: UNshakeable faith causes us to stand firm in life.

Week 3 - “STAND FIRM”


Three Ways to Stand Strong in Our Faith


I. STAND WITH AN UNSHAKEABLE (vs 1-5)

A. We will experience

in our faith. (v 4)

“Be strong and courageous; don’t be terrified or afraid of them. For the Lord your God is the one who will go with you; he will not leave you or abandon you.” —Deuteronomy 31:6

B. We will experience an

of our faith. (vs 1-3, 5)

“Even when I go through the darkest valley, I fear no danger, for you are with me; your rod and your staff ​— ​they comfort me.” —Psalms 23:4

II. STAND WITH AN UNSHAKEABLE (vs 6-9)

A. Our unshakeable joy will be

“… but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity.” —1 Timothy 4:12b

B. Our unshakeable rejoicing will

spiritual strength. (vs 7-9)

“You are being guarded by God’s power through faith for a salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. 6You rejoice in this, even though now for a short time, if necessary, you suffer grief in various trials 7so that the proven character of your faith ​— ​more valuable than gold which, though perishable, is refined by fire ​— ​may result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.” —1 Peter 1:5-7

III. STAND WITH UNSHAKEABLE (vs 10-13)

A. Pray with

“Ask, and it will be given to you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and the door will be opened to you. 8For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” —Matthew 7:7-8

“Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely. And may your whole spirit, soul, and body be kept sound and blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” —1 Thessalonians 5:23

B. Pray for spiritual

“… to take off your former way of life, the old self that is corrupted by deceitful desires, 23to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, 24and to put on the new self, the one created according to God’s likeness in righteousness and purity of the truth.” —Ephesians 4:22-24
