The 911 Christian
By Jamie Kayali

Is the body of Christ in a coma?
The brain is working, but there’s no

!

Last week, Pastor preached: Do not

, do not be !
It’s mentioned times in the Bible.

This week, let’s ask: What does that even mean?

Do what God is

you to do. Serve—sweep, usher, supervise the playground, etc. Get into the Word—study, pray, grow!

We’re not talking about what the

calls an emergency.

What is an emergency for today’s Christians compared to an emergency for the world?

Is our reliance and faith based on the things of this

?
So many this week have talked about losing everything—is that what has happened?

As Christians, do we have

?
We even have the power to go against God.
So how much more powerful are we with an all-powerful Partner, Friend, Father, and Spirit—in and with God?

Jesus’ Words, Not Mine:

John 17:20-26
20 “Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;
21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:
23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
24 Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.
25 O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me.
26 And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.”

Examples of

and
• Peter walks on water and doubts Jesus (Matthew 14:28-31)
28 “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”
29 “Come,” he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water, and came toward Jesus.
30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”
31 Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?”
• Saul/Paul persecuting Christians.
• David taking Bathsheba.
• The Jews creating idols while Moses was with God.
• Judas betraying Jesus.

Who are we, and why can we claim victory and authority now?
