MY STORY
Looking back on your notes from this week’s message, was there anything you heard for the first time or that caught your attention, challenged or confused you?
What’s your most unusual nighttime or morning ritual?
QUICK REVIEW
READ Acts 17:4-9
It was said in the message that Paul, Silas, and the others who followed Paul had “turned the world upside down” because they had been sharing the message of Jesus. Realistically, what kinds of things do you think could happen if Christ-Followers around the world took the mission of sharing Jesus with those around them seriously? What do you think it looks like for us, in Brazoria County, to take that mission seriously?
DIGGING DEEPER
READ Colossians 4:2-4
What do you think an “open door” for the message of Christ looks like? What doors do you already have open for you? What are some closed doors that you need to pray for God to open?
READ Matthew 28:18-20
In this passage, the word “disciple” suggests “to be a pupil of” Jesus; one who learns from, follows and obeys Jesus. How important is it, if we are going to be about the mission of making disciples, that we are disciples ourselves? Those who learn from, follow and obey Jesus. Explain your answer.
READ 2 Corinthians 5:17-21
These verses give us a very clear picture of what Jesus’ death and resurrection have done for us, as Christ-Followers. It then compels us to offer the same to others who do not know Christ as we do. What does being a Christ-Follower mean to you? Why do we not share this message of reconciliation more often with those in our circle of influence?
TAKING IT HOME
We were asked about what we were accustomed to doing … What are our routines, hobbies, and traditions? Can your current routines assist you in following Jesus’ instructions to make disciples? If so, how? If not, what would need to change?
