2 Timothy 2:19 “Nevertheless, God’s solid foundation stands firm…”
- Nevertheless
Numbers 13:1-2 “The Lord spoke to Moses, saying, ‘Send men to spy out the land of Canaan, which I am giving to the children of Israel; from each tribe of their fathers you shall send a man, every one a leader among them.’”
Numbers 13:26-27 “They departed and came back to Moses and Aaron and all the congregation of the children of Israel; they brought back word to them and to all the congregation, and showed them the fruit of the land. Then they said: “We went to the land where you sent us. It truly flows with milk and honey, and this is its fruit.’”
Numbers 13:28-29 “Nevertheless the people who dwell in the land are strong; the cities are fortified and very large; moreover we saw the descendants of Anak there. The Amalekites dwell in the land of the South; the Hittites, the Jebusites, and the Amorites dwell in the mountains; and the Canaanites dwell by the sea and along the banks of the Jordan.’”
Numbers 14:1-4 “All the congregation lifted up their voices and cried, and the people wept that night. And all the children of Israel complained against Moses and Aaron, and the whole congregation said to them, ‘If only we had died in the land of Egypt! Or if only we had died in this wilderness! Why has the Lord brought us to this land to fall by the sword, that our wives and children should become victims? Would it not be better for us to return to Egypt?’ So they said to one another, ‘Let us select a leader and return to Egypt.’”
Numbers 14:36-38 “The men whom Moses sent to spy out the land, who made all the congregation complain against him by bringing a bad report of the land, those very men who brought the evil report about the land, died by the plague before the Lord. But Joshua and Caleb remained alive, of the men who went to spy out the land.”
Joshua 14:7-8, 10, 12 “I was forty years old when Moses sent me to spy out the land, and I brought back word to him as it was in my heart.Nevertheless my brethren who went up with me made the heart of the people melt, but I wholly followed the Lord my God. And now, the Lord has kept me alive, as He said, these forty-five years, and now, here I am this day, eighty-five years old. Now give me this mountain of which the Lord spoke in that day.’”
Luke 5:1-4 “As the multitude pressed about Jesus to hear the Word of God, He stood by the Lake of Gennesaret, and saw two boats standing by the lake; but the fishermen had gone from them and were washing their nets. Jesus got into one of the boats, which was Simon’s, and asked him to put out a little from the land. And He sat down and taught the multitudes from the boat. When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, ‘Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.’”
Luke 5:5-7 “Simon Peter answered and said to Him, ‘Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.’ And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking. So they signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink.”
