Our Hearts Need Healing

In our rat race life, We often times get so focused on our life that we forget who the Potter is and why it is important to allow Him to provide that daily guidance and direction. To simply listen for his voice.

The attack on Job’s body, his family, and possessions were not the Goal for the evil one. That wasn’t what he was fighting for…it was Job’s faith, his devotion to God, his Love for the Lord. The devil has all the money and stuff he wants…he doesn’t need any more…
IT is our hearts that belong to the Lord that he cannot seem to grasp and he wants them dearly…

Job 1:1-3 In the land of Uz there lived a man whose name was Job. This man was blameless and upright; he feared God and shunned evil. He had seven sons and three daughters, and he owned seven thousand sheep, three thousand camels, five hundred yoke of oxen and five hundred donkeys, and had a large number of servants. He was the greatest man among all the people of the East.

Just remember the book of Job when someone is trying to pull you away from family and friends…what they are really trying to do is pull you further from God.

Even an anointed one, can sometimes be a little off… Samual looked and judged by the outer appearance kind of like me and you right…But thankfully, God kept him on track.

Samuel 16:1-13 (NIV) The LORD said to Samuel, “How long will you mourn for Saul, since I have rejected him as king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil and be on your way; I am sending you to Jesse of Bethlehem. I have chosen one of his sons to be king.” 2 But Samuel said, “How can I go? If Saul hears about it, he will kill me.” The LORD said, “Take a heifer with you and say, ‘I have come to sacrifice to the LORD.’ 3 Invite Jesse to the sacrifice, and I will show you what to do. You are to anoint for me the one I indicate.”
4 Samuel did what the LORD said. When he arrived at Bethlehem, the elders of the town trembled when they met him. They asked, “Do you come in peace?”
5 Samuel replied, “Yes, in peace; I have come to sacrifice to the LORD. Consecrate yourselves and come to the sacrifice with me.” Then he consecrated Jesse and his sons and invited them to the sacrifice.
6 When they arrived, Samuel saw Eliab and thought, “Surely the LORD’s anointed stands here before the LORD.”
7 But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.”
8 Then Jesse called Abinadab and had him pass in front of Samuel. But Samuel said, “The LORD has not chosen this one either.” 9 Jesse then had Shammah pass by, but Samuel said, “Nor has the LORD chosen this one.” 10 Jesse had seven of his sons pass before Samuel, but Samuel said to him, “The LORD has not chosen these.”
11 So he asked Jesse, “Are these all the sons you have?” “There is still the youngest,” Jesse answered. “He is tending the sheep.” Samuel said, “Send for him; we will not sit down until he arrives.” 12 So he sent for him and had him brought in. He was glowing with health and had a fine appearance and handsome features. Then the LORD said, “Rise and anoint him; this is the one.” 13 So Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the presence of his brothers, and from that day on the Spirit of the LORD came powerfully upon David. Samuel then went to Ramah.

It wasn’t that Samuel was trying to out think God, he just thought he knew what God was going to do so Samuel Guessed… Verse 6 —Samuel saw Eliab and thought, “Surely the LORD’s anointed stands here before the LORD.”
Again, Samuel wasn’t trying to do wrong or even second guess God…he just thought ahead of God’s plan. Tried to get in front of his decision.
How many times has each one of us tried to do that?

Romans 7:24-25 (NIV) Key Verse

24 What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death? 25 Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord!

Romans 6:1-7, 7:14-25, 8:1-8

As a matter of fact the entire human race is on death row…we have broken God’s holy law again and again…and justly condemned…
Without Jesus Christ there is no hope and through Him we have been declared not guilty, freedom from sin and power to do his will.

Proverbs…3:5-6 (NASB)
Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.
