It is wise to be

with your money.

Proverbs 3:9–10 (NLT) Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce. 10 Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine.
*Matthew 23:23 (NLT) What sorrow awaits you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you are careful to tithe even the tiniest income from your herb gardens,[a] but you ignore the more important aspects of the law—justice, mercy, and faith. You should tithe, yes, but do not neglect the more important things.*
Proverbs 13:22 (NLT) Good people leave an inheritance to their grandchildren, but the sinner’s wealth passes to the godly.
*Proverbs 21:17 (NLT) Those who love pleasure become poor; those who love wine and luxury will never be rich.*

Debt is

.
Proverbs 6:1– (NLT) My child, if you have put up security for a friend’s debt or agreed to guarantee the debt of a stranger— 2 if you have trapped yourself by your agreement and are caught by what you said— 3 follow my advice and save yourself, for you have placed yourself at your friend’s mercy. Now swallow your pride; go and beg to have your name erased. 4 Don’t put it off; do it now! Don’t rest until you do. 5 Save yourself like a gazelle escaping from a hunter, like a bird fleeing from a net.
*Proverbs 21:20 (NLT) The wise have wealth and luxury, but fools spend whatever they get.*
Proverbs 22:7 (NLT) Just as the rich rule the poor, so the borrower is servant to the lender.

Wealth that lasts is built, not

.
Proverbs 10:4 (NLT) Lazy people are soon poor; hard workers get rich.
*Proverbs 13:11 (NLT) Wealth from get-rich-quick schemes quickly disappears; wealth from hard work grows over time.*
Proverbs 13:11 (ESV) Wealth gained hastily will dwindle, but whoever gathers little by little will increase it.
*Proverbs 23:4 (NLT) Don’t wear yourself out trying to get rich. Be wise enough to know when to quit.*

Money can’t

your soul.
Proverbs 11:4 (NLT) Riches won’t help on the day of judgment, but right living can save you from death.
*Proverbs 11:28 (NLT) Trust in your money and down you go! But the godly flourish like leaves in spring.*
