Go Look Again
Week: 2
Part of In The Middle Of My Miracle
June 9, 2024

41 Then Elijah said to King Ahab, ‘Now go eat and drink. A heavy rain is coming.’ 42 So King Ahab went to eat. At the same time Elijah climbed to the top of Mount Carmel. At the top of the mountain, Elijah bent down. He put his head between his knees. 43 Then Elijah said to his servant, ‘Go up higher and look toward the sea.’ The servant went and looked. He came back and said, ‘I saw nothing.’ Elijah told him to go look again. This happened seven times. 44 The seventh time, the servant came back and said, ‘I saw a small cloud the size of a man’s fist that was coming in from the sea.’ Elijah told the servant, ‘Go tell King Ahab to get his chariot ready and go home now. If he does not leave now, the rain will stop him.’ 45 After a short time the sky was covered with dark clouds. The wind began to blow, and a heavy rain began to fall. Ahab got in his chariot and started back to Jezreel.” 1 Kings 18:41-45

It takes faith to look again.

“Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see.” Hebrews 11:1

When you look again, you are building persistency and expectation.

“One day Jesus told his disciples a story to show that they should always pray and never give up. 2 ‘There was a judge in a certain city,’ he said, ‘who neither feared God nor cared about people. 3 A widow of that city came to him repeatedly, saying, ‘Give me justice in this dispute with my enemy.’ 4 The judge ignored her for a while, but finally he said to himself, ‘I don’t fear God or care about people, 5 but this woman is driving me crazy. I’m going to see that she gets justice, because she is wearing me out with her constant requests!’’6 Then the Lord said, ‘Learn a lesson from this unjust judge. 7 Even he rendered a just decision in the end. So don’t you think God will surely give justice to his chosen people who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? 8 I tell you, he will grant justice to them quickly! But when the Son of Man[a] returns, how many will he find on the earth who have faith?’” Luke 18:1-8

When you look again, you will see God move.

16 I am the Lord, who opened a way through the waters, making a dry path through the sea. 17 I called forth the mighty army of Egypt with all its chariots and horses. I drew them beneath the waves, and they drowned, their lives snuffed out like a smoldering candlewick. 18 But forget all that — it is nothing compared to what I am going to do. 19 For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.” Isaiah 43:16-19
