As we move our focus to the pillar “Developing Leaders” in our series “All In,” I intend to cast a vision of a church culture that develops servant leaders. John C. Maxwell said, “Leadership is influence. Nothing more. Nothing less.” Every follower of Jesus has the opportunity to be a “Servant influencer.” I hope each of us can grow as servant leaders as we look to the most exceptional example of leadership in scripture, Jesus. —Pastor Chris Casoni
2 and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also. —2 Timothy 2:2
Four Transformational Leadership Needs of the Church
25 But Jesus called them to him and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them. 26 It shall not be so among you. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant, 27 and whoever would be first among you must be your slave, 28 even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” —Matthew 20:25-28

c. One-on-One Leadership
Matthew 4:18-24
18 While walking by the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon (who is called Peter) and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen. 19 And he said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” 20 Immediately they left their nets and followed him. 21 And going on from there he saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets, and he called them. 22 Immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him. 23 And he went throughout all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction among the people. 24 So his fame spread throughout all Syria, and they brought him all the sick, those afflicted with various diseases and pains, those oppressed by demons, those having seizures, and paralytics, and he healed them.

Ephesians 4:12-15
12 to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, 13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, 14 so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. 15 Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ,

b. Proverbs 29:25
25 The fear of man lays a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD is safe.
c. Galatians 1:10
10 For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.
A vision, or view of the future, is an ongoing, evolving, hopeful look into the future that stirs the hearts and minds of people who know they will never see its end or limit. —Phil Hodges
