Ephesians 2:8-10 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

Discussion Questions:
1. If both grace and faith are gifts from God, what does that imply about any human effort to obtain salvation?
2. How does the biblical understanding of salvation (by grace alone) differ from religious and cultural ideas about earning favor with God?
3. Discuss what happens to grace when someone tries to add works to it.
4. Are there any areas in your life where you struggle with pride or a boastful spirit?
5. Read 1 Corinthians 4:7. What does Paul mean when he asks, “What do you have that you did not receive?”
6. Why should verse 10 empower us to live purposeful lives rather than lives of religious duty to perform?
7. What is one practical way you can be “the hands and feet of Jesus” this week?
