Building the Church for Tomorrow

2 Peter 2:1 (ESV)
But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction.

2 Peter 2:2-3 (ESV)
2 And many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of truth will be blasphemed. 3 And in their greed they will exploit you with false words. Their condemnation from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep.

The Church has been under attack since the very beginning of creation and is still under attack to this very day. The only way to achieve victory over destruction is for the Church to AWAKEN and be BUILT UPON A FIRM FOUNDATION!

1.- A FIRM FOUNDATION must be BUILT.

2 Peter 2 (ESV)

Genesis 1:27
27So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him;
male and female he created them.

Genesis 2:24
24 Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.

Acts 1:8
8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Matthew 16:18
18 And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

2.- The Walls Must be BUILT

2 Peter 2:3 (ESV)
3 And in their greed they will exploit you with false words. Their condemnation from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep.

1 Peter 2:5
4 As you come to him, a living stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious, 5 you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house,

3.- The ROOF must be BUILT.

2 Peter 2:9 (ESV)
9 then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment until the day of judgment
