“For who makes you differ from another? And what do you have that you did not receive? Now if you did indeed receive it, why do you boast as if you had not received it?” 1 Co 4:7 (NKJV)
Today we will notice that God divinely equips each member of the body for the furtherance of the kingdom of God- the church.
Q: Does God give each person a gift?
• Each person remains with divine ability according to each person’s (ality) job-ministry fit.
• Charis is the Greek term for Grace and may be defined as divine goodness granted without ability or expectation to return. Jn. 1:16; 2 Cor. 8:9
• God’s Riches At Christ’s Expense
Jn. 1:14
• God gives to all liberally and without partiality.
2 Chron. 19:7; Acts 10:34; Rom. 2:11;1 Cor. 12:6-7;
Eph. 6:9; 1 Pet. 4:10-11
Q: Do you know the Gifts-resources God has entrusted to you?
• God reveals gift in four ways.
1) The Word
2) Prayer
3) Your Affinities
4) Other People
• Charisma- Greek term that may be defined as an undeserved grace gift-benefit from God.
• God distributes divine ability to each person in order to preform predetermined tasks toward the glory of Jesus.
Ps.139: 16; Eph. 2:10,4:8; 2 Cor. 9:8
• The divine gift of ability accords perfectly with personality and ministry-job fit.
Ex. 3:14, 4: 10-12; Jer. 1:5, 9-10; Ps.139:1-6, 14
You are invited into a relationship with God—If you have not yet committed your life to Jesus—you need to do so today! For everyone who calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved. Romans 10:13
In closing…
God designed you and the members of the body of Christ to thrive through the pattern of gifting others as He has gifted you.
FOR FURTHER STUDY:
Are you being faithful to practice (make part of your life) the Divine ability God has given you? In what way(s)?
How are you using the talents of musical, artistic, athletic, academic, business, and other persuasive talents?
Not only those gifts but also spiritual gifts.
“What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit?
James 2:14-16
“As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.
