Recipient: The Land of Edom, one of Israel’s greatest foe’s!
This area is located just below the Dead Sea in current day Jordan & southern Israel.
Reason for writing: Read verses 10-11. Instead of aiding Jerusalem when they were under attack, Edom celebrated. Even worse, they were some of the first one’s into the destroyed city to plunder it.
