Ezekiel 11:1-25

11:3-11 | The wicked leaders of Jerusalem rejected the true message of God spoken by Ezekiel (in Babylon) and Jeremiah (in Jerusalem) and expected the city’s walls to protect them, just as the iron walls of a caldron or pot “protect” the meat within the pot. But God declared they would be judged outside the city walls, when the Babylonians overwhelmed the city and slaughtered many of its fleeing citizens.

11:15-16 | The Israelites who remained in Judah and Jerusalem after the deportation thought they were blessed an that God had judged the exiles. But in fact, God had removed His remnant to Babylon, and those still in the land would perish in the final Babylonian assault. This is the first time Ezekiel prophesies a restoration to the land.
