Session Three: “Practicing Evangelism: Part Two”

I. Sharing a Gospel Booklet

A. Benefits of Using an Evangelistic Tool

  1. It presents the Gospel very clearly.
  2. It helps give you confidence when you may be nervous.
  3. It gives you a guide to keep you on the subject.
  4. It presents the claims of Christ clearly without getting involved with other issues.
  5. It has the Bible verses printed out in case you forget.
  6. It gives visual help as well as verbal.
  7. It offers suggestions for Christian growth.
  8. It can easily be taught to other Christians.
  9. The person being witnessed to will then have something to take with him/her, so he/she can look it over later.

B. General Principles for Using Gospel Booklets

  1. You cannot share a booklet you do not have – always carry them with you!
  2. Never give a booklet you have not read.
  3. Be enthusiastic about the contents when you give it away.
–”This is the greatest love story the world has ever seen.”
–”The most exciting thing that has ever happened to me is explained…”
–”What is in this little book has changed my life - take it and read it”
  4. Ask the person if you can explain the contents to them at that time. If they agree, take them through one page at a time.

  5. If appropriate, give the person your name and phone number for further contact.
