INTRODUCTION

Have you ever felt like your faith is stuck on silent? Like it’s there, but it’s not really making an impact? James challenges us to stop letting our faith be something private and quiet—it’s meant to be seen and heard. It’s not about keeping it to ourselves; it’s about letting it show up in the everyday moments of our lives.

“But be doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.” —James 1:22

James gives us a life-changing principle: faith isn’t just something we believe—it’s something we do, something that shows up in how we treat others, in our decisions, in our actions. So, get ready to turn up the volume on your faith and let it speak for itself. It’s time to live out loud!


In this collection, we’ll unpack simple, practical ways to let our faith grow and change the way we live. We will explore turning up the faith volume and answering the following questions:

Week 6 - Where Does Our Wisdom Come From?


I. GOD’S WISDOM IS

A. Wisdom


“Wisdom is supreme—so get wisdom. And whatever else you get, get understanding.” —Proverbs 4:7

“Now if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives to all generously and without criticizing, and it will be given to him.” —James 1:5

B. Good


“Conduct yourselves honorably among the Gentiles, so that when they slander you as evildoers, they will observe your good works and will glorify God on the day he visits.” —I Peter 2:12

C. Show


“Let your graciousness be known to everyone. The Lord is near.” —Philippians 4:5

II. WORLDLY WISDOM IS

A. Bitter


“Keep falsehood and deceitful words far from me. Give me neither poverty nor wealth; feed me with the food I need. 9Otherwise, I might have too much and deny You, saying, “Who is the Lord?” or I might have nothing and steal, profaning the name of my God.” —Proverbs 30:8-9

B. Selfish


“Do nothing out of selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility consider others as more important than yourselves.” —Philippians 2:3

C. Empty


“This is what the Lord says: The wise person should not boast in his wisdom; the strong should not boast in his strength; the wealthy should not boast in his wealth. 24But the one who boasts should boast in this: that he understands and knows Me— that I am the LORD, showing faithful love, justice, and righteousness on the earth, for I delight in these things. This is the Lord’s declaration.” —Jeremiah 9:23-24

III. GOD’S WISDOM IS ROOTED IN

A. God’s wisdom is

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding; 6in all your ways know him, and he will make your paths straight.” —Proverbs 3:5-6

B. God’s wisdom is

“If possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.” —Romans 12:18

IV. GODLY WISDOM LEADS TO

A. Righteousness


“Mankind, he has told each of you what is good and what it is the Lord requires of you: to act justly, to love faithfulness, and to walk humbly with your God.” —Micah 6:8

Peace

“Turn away from evil and do what is good; seek peace and pursue it.” —Psalm 34:14
